Who we are

Kingfisher Cellars was founded on a passion for craftsmanship and a relentless pursuit of improvement.

After growing up working on farms and vineyards, founder and winemaker Daniel studied horticulture and began making mead as a way to better understand the art and science of fermentation. What started as a hobby quickly became an obsession with refining techniques, exploring ingredients, and pushing each batch a little further than the last.

Years spent working in viticulture and learning alongside talented winemakers helped shape a vision: create meads with the complexity, balance, and elegance of fine wine while celebrating the unique character of honey.

Throughout that journey, one saying seemed to come up repeatedly: "Smart enough to know what I'm doing. Dumb enough to try and pull it off."  It reflects the curiosity, persistence, and willingness to take risks that have guided every experiment, every vintage, and every new idea.

The result is Kingfisher Cellars—a winery dedicated to producing distinctive, small-batch meads that showcase quality ingredients, thoughtful winemaking, and a spirit of adventure.
